Clinging at her perch, Lobisomem concluded one thing. She was not to be hit to have any chance at this. Feeling at the metal under her claws, she concluded something else. It was weak enough to bite through. She just needed to have a chance.
As Punkette screamed forward, Lobisomem launched, seemingly leaping forward for a suicidal strike. At the last moment, however, she sprang to the side, the familiar burst of speed she had used before. This humanoid was like a fellow predator, and be what it may, that meant Lobisomem was pulling out all her stops.
Her metal-crushing jaws shot out, aimed at Punkette's arm to crush and tear.
Lobisomem snarled as the sword was wrenched away from her teeth before she could even try and break it. The weapon name escaped her, but she wasn't dim enough to not know that these metallic structures were like replacement claws for humans...or humanoid looking things, as she was slowly becoming convinced the more she stayed around this stranger.
"Lobisomem!" She spit, irritation bubbling in her voice, which sounded more like it came from deep within her stomach, rather than any vocal cords. It was remarkably well-spoken, the name that always bubbled in the back of her mind practiced over and over. If there was anything she could say, it was her name and kind.
She didn't get a chance to talk more, stiffening as the humanoid swung its sword...and she didn't react fast enough. At the last second, as the spotlight and roars of the crowd clawed at her mind, she leapt to the side, too late.
Squealing in shock, the reptillian beast tumbled on the ground, snapping at the air as near black blood spread under her side. A gash came into view as she pulled to her feet, letting out a long screech at the crowd as they cheered and jeered. Instinct dictated she fix this injury, and so it was. A sharp eye would spot flesh just rising from the wound. Replacing the injury as the Lobisomem grew thinner and thinner. Already having taken an injury, she could feel her scales lose their sturdiness.
Abruptly, she was back on her feet, clambering up the cage's walls. There, she lingered, watching with impatience as she waited for her prey to make the next move.
This was a very loud prey, and one showing its red fangs right away! Was it hunting too? The air reeked of human, but this thing didn't smell like them, there was a difference, both a clean smell and a dirty one. While it was small, the growl of the Lobisomem's stomach communicated her desires. It smelled powerful.
Unbeknownst to, well, most of humanity, the beast was understanding speech. At least the important parts like Are you human got through to the beast, who raised her claw briefly to her chest, "I...'m Lobisomem."
And that was all the information the combatant would receive. Her mouth sprung open in a lingering screech, springing forward faster than most humans could hope to escape from. Her jaws were aimed at the woman's legs, aiming to cripple in one fell swoop.
Reddened eyes glared out into the world, a screech at the back of the Lobisomem's throat only stifled by a leather wrapping around her snout, which her thrashing was quickly making short work of. Quite suddenly, she was suddenly released, her bindings snapping under her strength and claws, and she could finally see her surroundings without the stress blur.
The metallic smelling walls, a smell of blood sticking to the floor...was she in a den? What were they eating? And why weren't there any scraps?
They had caught the beast outside the ring, who smelled the blood and assumed a meal, and the clatter of bets was obvious on sight as it snarled at the spotlights and sprung at the cage walls. A fierce competitor, whether it was a freak or a mutant didn't much matter to the betters, just that the result of the upcoming fight got them money.
Another was coming, she heard it. Abruptly, Lia dropped to the stone ground, a frightning calm coming over her as she lowered to a more defensive, four-legged stance. Whatever was happening, she could hunt it, and she would tear through these walls. It was unfortunate, but she was already hungry.
Lobisomem is a creature who's only desire is to protect her "kind" and territory. Luckily for all involved, she considers humans a part of her kind and is thus obliged to protect them. She will always hold herself to any and all debts and will similarly expect everybody else to hold themselves to their debts. She holds neither a positive nor negative view of life, enjoying what she can and refusing to wallow in negativity, even with what have happened to her. [break][break]
She treats her fellow "kind" in an almost social manner. While completely aware that most humans will run screaming from her, she is completely happy to interact with others, even if her wording tends to be rather clipped and singular. [break][break]
However, she is still a beast. She sees no problems with killing and eating whatever she wants, and sees no virtue in mercy to her enemies. Anything that invades her territory, harms her kind, or harms her can expect nothing but being hunted down and attacked. To her, these actions are completely reasonable, as any slight is a potential threat to her life and home.
Lia is not the victim of an unfortunate coupling, nor an experiment, or even a spell. A supposed "curse" drove her sudden transformation, and nothing more. Unknown to her parents, a happy couple living in the superhero heavy Wayport city, the family carried a curse, one that would inflict itself on all 13th sons. A tale connected to the Amazon, the legend had lost many details except for one detail: the son would transform into a monster on his 13th birthday. Hideous and twisted, it would be a threat to all that lived. [break][break]
If only the family legend specified 13th child ever, or that females weren't exempt, they might have known to house her in a church on her 13th birthday, sparing the transformation with a blessing. Alas, nothing goes as planned. [break][break]
Their daughter transformed into some hideously furious lizard beast right before their eyes, and absconded into the night, never to be found again...not by their eyes anyhow. She found herself a bedtime legend and fear of pets, the metaphorical Boogieman that everyone had seen but nobody believed in any capacity except in how she could harm their pets. A glorified jackal, by all intents and purposes. She is fine with such anominity, it allowed her to hunt freely. [break][break]
Her mind was changed, but still Lia. She knew she had come from two human parents, and couldn't be convinced to harm them, even keeping attackers away from the in her nightly hunts. Her changes manifested as a new understanding on what she was, Lobisomem, and that she was both very hungry and that this city was her home. Thus, it deserved protection. She craved to devour any and all enemies that presented themselves, to take everything and use it in protection. [break][break]
Still a whispered legend of the alleyways, Lobisomem is nonetheless growing in all capacities, even in heroism.
Lia have turned into a Lobisomem. This transformation, once done, cannot be reversed. She have transformed into a lizard-like beast with sharp claws, a huge maw, and a mixture of black and red scales.[break][break]
This creature is more comparable to a monster than any animal. She can run at speeds of 50 mph in short bursts and is built to capture and dispatch prey as quick as possible. Therefore, her bite can break bone and her claws break through wood without damage. She has a predator's instinct and can judge whether something is easy prey, and how to hunt it, within first meeting. She can operate at night as easily, if not more, as in day and can climb most structures without any trouble. Finally, as long as she eats, her stamina is near inexhaustible, the better for long hunts and chases. [break][break]
Unfortunately, the weaknesses are clear. Her appearance doesn't blend in well among humans and she doesn't have much knowledge in how to talk in complex sentences. She is basically an intelligent beast and possesses no knowledge on technology or magic. [break][break]
Enhanced Senses: As a creature built to hunt, Lobisomem possesses a sense of smell comparable to a dog's and can track sounds up to a mile. She also has great night vision. [break][break]
X - She is overwhelmed by loud noises or bright lights. Her vision lacks detail, in light, everything is blurry. [break][break]
Durability: Her scales make attacks harm her much less than most humans, able to turn a knife and take the shock of a blow that would break iron. Her bones are similarly durable, a testament to the danger her kind is expected to hunt. [break][break]
X - She must eat constantly to maintain this health, and will lose about half of her durability if she fails to eat in even a day. These defenses also do nothing against elemental attacks. [break][break]
Feral Mind: Her instincts and intuition are top notch already, but when in danger, Lobisomem's basic abilities increase. Until her adrenaline dies down, Lobisomem's strength increases until it is about half more than what she is usually capable of, and she can mantain her top speed without stopping. [break][break]
X - Her primary concern in this state is to either get away from what is scaring her, or kill it. She will be exhausted and need to eat afterwards, eating whatever is near regardless of her alliances or feelings. This happens only when she thinks she will die, she cannot activate this ability willingly, and with her predator instinct, it is very difficult to put her in this state of mind. [break][break]
The Lobisomem doesn't just eat to sustain itself, but to grow. Whenever Lobisomem consumes something, she can immediately turn it to assisting her body. The most obvious is to grow larger. She can make herself larger, longer, even grow new structures or organs if needed.[break][break]
However, all changes she makes to herself are permanent, and she must eat even more to compensate even with something small like growing longer claws. She also must eat a form of life and, the less complex, the less she can use it. Only eating a powerful being would give her the ability to make a new structure right away. So this power doesn't see much use. [break][break]
Regeneration: She can use any flesh she eats to replace any lost flesh. [break][break]
X - The same limitation on complex life applies here. Any blood loss is not recoverable and, if there is anything in the way, she cannot replace the flesh (ex: she is impaled). She cannot use her own flesh as a source. [break][break]
Lobisomem is a beast intended to hunt all living things. Thus, she can guess at what is the weakness of her enemies or prey is with limited information from her senses. She can determine what is the equivalent of a throat, a lung, a weak leg, to a creature even far removed from what she's seen before. [break][break]
This ability only applies to biological equivalences. She cannot guess at anything magical or elemental, and her guesses are not perfect, she can draw the wrong conclusion. This ability only means she is more likely to guess correctly on instinct.
