He was kidnapped with several other infants and thrown into an underground experiment lab attempting to create artificial supers to further bolster Russia's power by creating a group of powerful secret assassins.

He was known as "XIV" the fourteenth Series of experiments based on thirteen previously failed attempts. He and thirteen other children were injected with a special serum which was supposed to increase their natural mutant abilities by tenfold which amplified his own.

When America's government came across reports of Russia's illegal attempts of creating "BWMD" (Bio-Weapons of Mass Destruction) they quickly and almost completely wiped out the whole entire outfit only taking a handful of the surviving experiments in hopes of having their own "ace in the hole".

From Russia to America, the hands may have changed but the situation remained the same. And XIV now legally named: Alexander Romanov was sick of it. After years of taking out the USA's enemies, he eventually faked his death with the help of some sympathetic allies.

And thus hid away in Japan from ages fifteen to seventeen - where he made a new identity and purpose for himself as "Plague" a villain who wanted to cleanse the world of greed and corruption by any means necessary.
