BIOGRAPHY

Hero. Villain. He never understood why the world viewed it all in black and white. Tajima understood from an early age that not everything could be divided so even—so cleanly—in two. The world existed in various shades of gray, and to think in only black and white meant to be paralyzed with fear and indecision when those who counted on you needed you the most. [break][break]

Case in point: his girlfriend was murdered by a villain. And the saddest part about it was that his girlfriend was a huge advocate for super-powered beings with extraordinary abilities. She loved the idea that there were people who could do amazing good for the world, and being confined to a wheelchair her whole life, it allowed her to dream of the impossible. [break][break]

They had met through a virtual MMORPG, and after a year of being guild mates, she finally convinced him to meet up in person. Tajima took the extreme risk to come out of his shell, meeting her at an internet cafe. The two were near inseparable since. He never revealed to Sakura that he was one of those super-powered beings she adored so much—he wanted her to be with him for who he was, not what he could do. [break][break]

Since his early youth, he'd been impressed upon by his strict, controlling family not to reveal the truth of his powers: he was a Tajima, after all—part of an elite aristocratic family who owned much of the businesses and port harbors in Kobe, Japan. Such a thing would be a stain on their impeccable family name. [break][break]

In the end, when a flame-powered villain attacked a busy intersection and killed Sakura in the cross fire, he was helpless to do anything about it. He hesitated to engage the villain and use his powers and as a result, his girlfriend died. Many others died that day. And the worst part of it all? [break][break]

Those heroes his blossom so idolized never came to save her. That was the biggest injury of all. Tajima vowed since that day never to hesitate to act again. Never to be ashamed or hide his powers from the world again. He will protect those who cannot protect themselves, and he will deliver swift, brutal vengeance upon every evil doer he encounters. CHARACTER POWERS

✰ INFUSED LIGHTNING [break]

Electricity Manipulation [break][break]

Tajima's electricity-based powers work as if he were large battery: he can only store so much [up to a maximum of 100 volts], and he can only project so much [threshold of 150 volts] before he finds himself tapped out. Much like anything else, too much energy stored and it starts to discharge itself involuntarily which tends to be disastrous. If he expends too much of his energy, he becomes heavily fatigued and unable to use his abilities at all for a certain length of time: 24 to 48 hours if he pushes it too far, and 7 to 10 days if he pushes himself to the point of exhaustion. On a whole, electricity courses through his veins much like blood circulates through a normal person. Sometimes technology doesn't work very well around him, and his mood can affect any nearby electronics: the more anxious or excited, the more technical issues it can create for others. Electrokinetic Surfing: Tajima can infuse his feet with an ionic charge, generating electricity that allows him to "surf" across electrical cables, wires, or any sort of material that can hold a charge. He can only do so for short distances at a time, perhaps 100 to 200 feet at a time and it takes a considerable amount of his energy to do so as a specific voltage and amperage must be carefully maintained. [This power typically costs 30-40 volts.] [break][break]

Surfing along cables and wires allows him to travel at a maximum speed of 40 MPH. When he infuses his lightning into his movements as a whole, he can increase his mobility to roughly 30 MPG -- just beyond that which is humanly possible. Aside from enhancing his own agility, he is unable to enhance his physical strength. He is as strong and durable as any normal human male, lifting around 150-175 lbs at his maximum.[break][break]

Electrical Constructs [break][break]

Tajima has the ability to channel his lighting into weapons, tools, or other objects for various purposes. The main method in which he uses this power is creating for himself a lightning blade, typically channeled through a metallic rod he carries on his person. He can also form a shield made of lightning for defensive purposes. [Typically requires around 20 volts to manifest, and he can only do so once every half hour or so.] [break][break]

This method of fighting uses less electricity than when he is surfing, so it requires less voltage to maintain his weapons but the drawback is that if his concentration is broken, he loses control of the construct and it falls apart. This is true as well of when he channels his lightning into the form of a semi-sentient tiger construct used to combat foes if he finds himself overwhelmed or outnumbered. [The Voltage Tiger Construct requires 75 volts. He cannot take any other actions at the same time as maintaining Voltage Tiger.][break][break]

Electric Barrier: Tajima is capable of generating barriers of electricity that he can use to trap and detain foes, but he cannot maintain such a barrier for longer than three minutes at a maximum [at his current level of power]. Not only that, but if his concentration is broken or he gets injured, it can cause the barrier to fall as well. [Electric Barrier costs around 40-50 volts, and he cannot use it more than once per battle.][break][break]

✽ SUPERCONDUCTOR ROD [break][break]


A 12" metallic rod comprised of a solid gold interior with a mixture of zinc and aluminum on the outside. It is designed as a superconductive rod, able to easily channel his powers though the rod becomes useless as a conductor if not kept below a certain temperature [30 degrees or less; non-functional above 75 degress.]

It is kept in a specially designed cooling case he carries on his person at all times.[break]
