Charlotte has the undying spirit of a researcher. She's always searching for the truth of the world around her, whether it be something as complex as the metahuman genome, or something as simple as who a cat belongs to. She has an insatiable desire to know, which will likely never be sated. Her curiosity is only matched by her genius intellect, which naturally goes hand and hand with it. She began attending Oxford at age 13, and has since obtained two doctorates at the humble age of 21. She's never really had any trouble grasping any sort of subject put in front of her, though surely there will eventually be something she struggles with. When she puts her mind to something, there's very little that can stop her from achieving her goal.[break][break]
Despite her intellect, there have always been simple aspects of life that Charlotte has always struggled with. Socially, she has quite a bit of trouble connecting with those around her. While she's inherently a good person who wants to help others, it sometimes comes off quite different. She's always felt some sort of isolation due to her unique development, and will often come off as haughty or dismissive to others. She has trouble grasping the emotions of others, and prefers to use proper logic as opposed to her heart. The easiest way to upset her is to tell her that she's wrong, at least, if she doesn't value your opinion on a particular subject. Beyond this, she's missed out on plenty of random domestic skills through her fast tracking of the academic system. She doesn't know how to cook, do her own laundry, do her taxes, or take care of herself in many respects.[break][break]
Being born to a relatively normal family in Marseille, Charlotte's early childhood could be simply described as uneventful. However by the time that she started her proper schooling, it was apparent that something was different. Namely that Charlotte was extraordinarily gifted. Difficult concepts that it took her peers weeks to learn came as easy as pie to her, and she wondered just when her education was supposed to challenge her. Luckily for her, her school was willing to make accommodations. Charlotte moved up grades at an alarming rate, seemingly grasping any concept in front of her instantly. Of course, this rapid progression had to come at a cost. Being a preteen in a classroom full of high schoolers did little to help her social life, and left her distinctly isolated from those around her. While she still appreciated and respected her parents, she couldn't get over the fact there seemed to be something horribly ordinary about them. She refused to be like them, she needed to be something more. [break][break]
By the time that she was 13, she was already making her applications for Ivy League education. By the time that she was accepted to Oxford, she needed a proper topic to devote her insatiable search for knowledge. Being inspired by the gallant adventures of the superheroes in the world around her, she needed to know more. In way, she related to them. After all, they were all gifted in their own ways, and ostracized from the concept of a normal life. Devoting her studies to the newly developing science of Xenobiology, she wanted to know just about everything there was to know about metahumans. In some way, there was a modicum of jealousy to her studies. Heroes were being celebrated and worshipped for their otherness, while Charlotte was spending her days isolated in a lab surrounded by people who could never understand her. [break][break]
She spent much of her teen years taking advantage of the resources at Oxford and slaving away with various metahuman DNA samples. While there were some that were generous with their donations to science, the feeling of incompleteness pervaded every study that she did. There were simply too many differing mutations and stimuli tied to a singular metahuman's genome that it was difficult to reach conclusions. Unlike humans, there is no complete scientific blueprint as to what makes a metahuman. As she continued her work, it was quite apparent that the resources at Oxford could only help her so much. She needed to be in the belly of the beast, surrounded the subjects of her study, Aegis. [break][break]
While she could go through the process of joining Aegis as a human staff member, she believed that she truly needed to assimilate to understand metahumans. Not to mention, if she became a metahuman herself, she could experiment on her own body. Shortly after obtaining her doctorate from Oxford, she conducted her operation. It took multiple years of isolating metahuman DNA, developing a specific mutation and modifying it for her own genome. By the time she was twenty-one, she succeeded. She turned herself into a metahuman with the ability to shrink and grow her body at will. It didn't take long for her to apply for a license, and she quickly relocated to Wayport City. Now she could research superheroes to her heart's content, she just had to be a hero sometimes in the process. [break][break]
Charlotte is able to proportionally alter her body's size at will. She can grow herself to massive heights, shrink herself to miniscule ones, and everything in between. In terms of her maximum height, she can reach all the way up to a massive 20,000 feet tall. When it comes to her minimum one, she can shrink all the way down to around 10 micro meters. The closer she is to one of these extremes, the less time that she can maintain her altered size. She can typically last around 2 minutes at either extreme before she runs out of stamina and returns to normal. When she grows herself, her strength, speed and durability all increase proportionally. Her speed specifically does not decrease, meaning that she can move much faster than one might expect her to. At her maximum size, she easily punch away at a mountain peak, and can easily level entire urban centers just from sitting down. On the other hand, when she shrinks herself down, she retains about half of her strength from when she was normal sized. However, her density does increase as she shrinks down. While this doesn't make her invincible, it allows her to survive simple things like being stepped on.[break][break]
Growing: [break][break]
X - Can only temporarily stay at a grown size, depending on her stamina. She can last a max of 2 minutes at her largest. [break][break]
X - A much bigger and clumsier target at a grown size, making it next to impossible to avoid attacks. [break][break]
X - Susceptible to causing plenty of property damage and friendly fire if she grows in the wrong place or loses her balance. [break][break]
X - Has trouble making out the exact details of a battle when she's so huge, since everything and everyone looks very small to her. [break][break]
X - Has little to no martial training, meaning that she simply relies on brute strength to win fights. [break][break]
Shrinking: [break][break]
X - Practically everything poses more danger to her at tiny size. Cats, vacuum cleaners, oblivious housewives, you name it. [break][break]
X - It's difficult for her to make out what all of the giants around her are doing. [break][break]
X - Has trouble effectively communicating with allies when her voice is so quiet. [break][break]
X - Only retains half of her strength from when she's normal size, making her basically ineffective in proper combat. [break][break]
X - Can only remain at her shrunken size temporarily. She can only remain in her smallest size for about 2 minutes. [break][break]

"All scientists are ignorant. If there was no ignorance, there would be no science." [break][break]
✽ Enhanced Intelligence [break][break]
While not inherently a super power, Charlotte was blessed with an exceptional intellect. Making it to a prestigious Ivy League university by the time she was merely 13. She's always had very little issue grasping a subject, and potentially pushing the boundaries of what is considered possible. Being knowledgeable in many fields, she has dedicated most of her academic energy to the sciences, and more specifically biology. Her research into Xenobiology are widely known within the field, and her contributions helped transform it from a newly developing field to the institution that it is today. In particular, she managed to crack the nature of the metahuman genome enough so that she could intentionally make herself into one. [break]
