Power Summary: After being enchanted by a yokai kitsune spirit (and thus taking the appearance of a tanuki-girl with fur, ears, and all!), Kyoko was granted the blessing of nature and the powers to control aspects of it. She can manipulate various aspects of plant and animal life, manipulate solar and lunar energy, and also come into contact with other yokai spirits.
History: Before being thrown into the world of Supers and Heroism, Kyoko Hamasaki was just like any Japanese girl living in Tokyo. A girl of many passions, Kyoko had grown a love for nature and the planet from a very early age. Raised in a strict family, Kyoko often found herself secluded from her more boisterous friends which, while shaping the girl to be a more timid and solitary person, allowed her to form a deep appreciation for gardening and the environment around her. However, as news coverage became more widespread about the formation of Aegis, Kyoko had decided that she wanted to support the cause in any way possible; particularly so that she may find a way to actively devote herself to preserving the beautiful world around her. Against her parent's wishes, Kyoko attempted to run off before being confronted by a mysterious Yokai spirit in Ueno Park. Acknowledging her true desire to want to preserve nature, the Yokai granted Kyoko mystical powers. [break][break]
Her resolve now sealed, Kyoko moved to Wayport City to become a registered hero. She settled down in solitude at a quaint cabin within the outskirts of Liberty Park away from the distractions of the main city. ...Until having been rudely recruited by Victory. [break][break]
Irritated by the sudden move but optimistic for what this new team may bring to the table, Kyoko decided to join up. Perhaps this would help her break out of her timid shell and meet new like-aged friends that were Supers like her! Everyone likes kind animal-girls, right?

[attr="class","yuki-text"]”Ehm, I’m actually a Tanuki-- But I suppose that’s not important at this moment,” Kyoko replied as she touched ground, quickly ushering the civilians she’d caught away from the scene. The rest still in the building hurriedly ran out, not wanting to fall victim to their office place that was now crumbling at its base. [break][break]
About that-- [break][break]
”Agh!” The animal-girl grumbled, her attention refocusing on the deteriorating foundation. She clenched her hands, tightening the roots around it. This was no good. They needed to deal with these criminals quickly before her energy completed drained! [break][break]
Her ears flicked when she heard a yelp of pain. Kyoko looked back to see a slightly injured Kaiden, however, he’d successfully knocked out his opposing gunman. The man in black slumped onto the ground, unconscious.
Kyoko gritted her teeth and quickly rushed over, back to the side of her heroic comrades. Her vines were tight enough for now, so she decided to focus her efforts back to the main issue at hand. With a concerned pout, the fluffy tanuki maiden hunkered down to the dark-haired male’s side. She inspected the area where the plasma had hit him. [break][break]
”I hope it’s not too bad,” She spoke in a hushed tone, spreading out her palms. A lime green glow coated them and she placed them onto the area of impact, slowly healing the wound to new. [break][break]
”As for the plants… You must act as if you’re apart of it. Feel the vines and branches outstretch from the tips of your fingers… and then strike!” [break][break]
Meanwhile, Cosmic-Mode Sarah’s fist rammed right into the abdomen of one of the criminal gunman. He gagged before the force of the strike followed through, sending him crashing into the ground. He coughed and lay flat on the ground, unconscious as well. [break][break] That left one more gunman. Desperate now, he cranked a dial on the powerful weapon, applying its maximum blasting capability. With a crazed grin on his face, he held tight onto the gun and fired an array of beams more powerful than the rest. They incinerated trees on the spot and turned marble into ash. He swung the beam’s fire toward Sarah first before aiming at Kaiden and Kunoichi! [break][break]
[attr="class","yuki-text"]With Kyoko’s body now possessed, Jubokko now had complete control over it and its functions. The spirit-lady gave a grin at the other’s fearsome rebuttal. Lacking any of Kyoko’s morals, anger, or inhibitions, Jubokko truly had free range. For as long as the Yokai summoning pact lasted, of course. What was it again? An hour? Thirty minutes? [break][break]
Well, she’d cross that bridge when she got there. [break][break]
She walked forward, unperturbed. Jubokko had seen all sorts of entities in her day. This one wasn’t much of a surprise, truly. [break][break]
”Such skill with illusion, yet you’re not a Kitsune or Tanuki,” The antlered woman mused, tapping an index finger against her chin. ”It must mean must be a different type of spirit. Nay, not an ordinary Yokai. Perhaps… a ghost? If so, I must say, you’re a lot less ugly than the ones I have encountered.” [break][break]
A chatty Yokai indeed. After centuries of soul-sucking and feeding off the blood of mortal battlefields, she’d clearly become bored with her usual state of affairs. Being called upon was a treat to her. She was going to make the most of it. [break][break]
And, with such a delightful specimen before her, she had to get some information in. [break][break]
”Now, how did you come to be, spirit? Were you killed and found a way to avert the afterlife? What’s your name?” [break][break]
Jubokko was dilly-dallying. With Kyoko’s mind deep in another part of her shared body’s subconscious, she felt no need to rush with this task.

[attr="class","yuki-text"] Kyoko let out a low growl as her ghostly opponent scared off the innocent bystanders. For a moment, the tanuki girl was questioning if she’d even made the right choice. Sure, the defenseless citizens were away from this menace’s reach, but Kyoko wasn’t sure if her plan was sure proof. She had still been practicing her skills with Yokai communication, and nothing was ever guaranteed. She could call a spirit forth and let it embody her, but what was there to say they’d even be powerful enough to deal with a ghost? [break][break]
And, perhaps, more worryingly, Kyoko had no control over her body when possessed. Would her selected Yokai agree to her terms? [break][break]
“...lead the way, lil’ trash panda.” [break][break]
She narrowed her eyes. [break][break]
“I’m a Tanuki.”
[break][break]
There was only one way to find out. [break][break]
She did as the ghost woman wished. With a huff, Kyoko pushed -- or phased -- past her blonde enemy, and began once again revealed her wings and flew off. As soon as she was airborne, she could feel the surrounding wind blow through her navy-colored locks. Whatever euphoric energy that had once been buzzing through this amusement park was scared off by the unpleasant presence of a dark miasma. [break][break]
Eventually, she landed near an outdoor food court. There were no rides here which meant there were fewer objects that could end up becoming collateral damage. Kyoko had already caused enough of a fracas-- she didn’t need to park owners hating her any more than she had to. [break][break]
She folded her wings and stood stiff, turning around to face wherever her opponent was now standing. [break][break]
Kyoko let a seed slide down from sleeve which morphed itself into a green kunai. She rose the small knife before her. But instead of throwing the weapon at the ghost, Kyoko actually gave herself a minor cut across the palm. Quickly, blood began to seep from her wound. The girl clenched her injured hand into a fist and rested the balled hand against her chest. [break][break]
”Jubokko, please, help me handle this spirit.” [break][break]
Kyoko’s body suddenly gave off a blinding luminescence. The girl’s body began to morph. She grew taller and new features became defined, such as the large antlers atop the now pale and furless woman’s head. [break][break]
The transformation was completed. This new version of Kyoko opened her eyes and adjusted to the light. [break][break]
She let out a guttural bellow. [break][break]
”Hmmph. This was what that little tanuki was so worried about?” [break][break]
The Jubokko-woman stared forward at the enemy with curious eyes.

[attr="class","yuki-text"] As the pinkette approached, Kyoko could not help but blink her big eyes in awe. The lady swayed up to her without a care in the world, as if an animal-girl had not just materialized out of nowhere to face before her. Kyoko was expecting at least a bit of shock. [break][break]
This one’s boldness was a little scary, but… impressive. Kyoko’s ears perked. [break][break]
Kyoko turned her head up and locked eyes with the troublesome Hero. She broke eye-contact at the word ‘cute’ and turned her head a bit, attempting to hide her blush. A lot of people seemed to say that about her. The issue was, a hero was supposed to have a brave and valiant outlook. Cute, while a flattering descriptor, just seemed to lessen her alter-ego’s image as a serious hero. Perhaps she needed to add some more black to her costume. Maybe a spiked collar? She rubbed her neck self-consciously. [break][break]
”No, the park’s outskirts is my spot. I too like to indulge in nature. The city makes me sick-- seriously.” Kyoko replied, perhaps taking the inquiry a tad bit too literally. [break][break]
The girl’s tail swayed behind her gently. [break][break]
”I’m here because you seem to have a reputation for trouble despite being an Aegis agent. I was assigned to oversee you. I assume you going off the city’s limits may have made some of the upper superiors a bit… nervous,” Kyoko chuckled, cracking a smile for the first time since arriving. [break][break]
She gave a brief sigh. It was best to get down to the point. [break][break]
”This isn’t really my sort of thing, but I’m determined to do my best at it. I imagine this arrangement might not be your most preferred either given your history, but I’m just doing my job. I’d like to make it as friendly of a relation as I can,” She then said, offering out her fuzzy hand. ”My alias is Kunoichi-Chan, but really, you can call me Kyoko. It’s nice to meet you, Khae.”
[attr="class","yuki-text"]As the men approached with their rapid-fire, eagle wings sprouted from Kunoichi-Chan’s back. With a light-footed jump, she took into the air and dodged the incoming plasma. What didn’t hit her crashed into the dark pavement instead, sending chunks of road and stone into the air. The tanuki-girl clenched her teeth as she observed the damage it had done to their immediate vicinity. The blast left a massive pothole in the ground. [break][break]
She needed to find a way to disable their weapons, and quickly. [break][break]
Perhaps she didn’t need to go about the endeavor alone, though. Kyoko blinked in surprise when suddenly, a ray of emerald-colored energy launched out of seemingly nowhere, blasting at one of her opponents. She narrowed her eyes-- that looked a lot like one of her own abilities! [break][break]
Her ears flicked and her attention was brought to the ground below. A boy she didn’t recognize had come to the scene, presumably a hero. Kyoko landed back onto the ground, looking up at him with wide, intrigued eyes. Her short stature and inquisitive expression made her look quite cute on top of her fuzzy features. [break][break]
“Thanks… But isn’t that an odd thing to say if you can manipulate plant things too?” She asked a little confusedly. [break][break]
But once again, Kyoko’s attention was quickly taken elsewhere. A woman of shimmering blonde hair stepped into the fray. Another hero, presumably, and of the highfaluting breed, too. Her statement got an abashed chuckle and a raised eyebrow out of Kyoko. Being a Hero was a messy job in itself, no? Wasn’t a bit of dirt on one’s suit to be expected? [break][break]
There was no time for silly musings, though. The gunmen regrouped, the third and unhinged man blasting the first out of his snared position. The second gunman got back up to his feet and walked to the side of his comrades. [break][break]
“Tch. I hate these Supers. Always gettin’ in our way!” One of them grumbled, cocking his gun, “well, let’s see you all dance with your fancy little powers!” [break][break]
All three began blasting at the large building behind the three. Thanks to the plasma, the office building began to crumble at its foundation. The workers inside began to scream and commotion brewed. [break][break]
“Gah! No!” Kunoichi shouted. The building swayed and threatened to collapse which would compromise the lives of the civilians inside. [break][break]
“I’ll try to keep the building up! You guys-- try to stop their fire!” She exclaimed. Kunoichi spread her wings and flew into the air, catching some of the falling civilians. She threw out a few seeds as well which grew into ginormous vines. They wrapped their way around the building, attempting to keep its crumbling foundation upright. [break][break]

[attr="class","yuki-text"] Kyoko could already feel the incoming trespasser; it didn’t take much to spot them. She stopped in place atop a tree branch and hunkered down, staring down at the quickly approaching figure with green, scrutinizing eyes. He had long-flowing dark hair and-- [break][break]
Kyoko raised a brow. Pink eyes? How strange; it looked as if he were pupilless. She wasn’t quite sure who he was. [break][break]
But what she was sure of was that she already disliked him. Kyoko could feel the discomfort of the plants he’d toppled down on his careless trek through the private trial. She frowned. Not only was he trespassing, but he was leaving the place a mess and of a magnitude greater than she’d dealt with in the past. He must have had a bit of strength to move around so much brush in a span of little time. He had to be a Super. [break][break]
”Superpowered and careless? Ugh.” [break][break]
How annoying. [break][break]
What was he here for? To set up camp? To dump even more garbage? Kyoko’s ears flattened irritably against her head as she continued to follow him back to the path of her home. [break][break]
”You’ve got to be kidding me…” [break][break]
Yup. He was walking right towards her cabin! Upon hearing the approaching footsteps of the intruder, the animals that had been enjoying their small portion of the sugary dessert Kyoko left out quickly scattered. She winced as he banged on the lodge’s door indifferently. The manner in which he strode forward and tried to introduce himself was quite rude. Kyoko wanted nothing to do with this outsider. [break][break]
Eyes narrowed and fangs clenched, from her hidden position, Kyoko motioned her hands which were now glowing a bright emerald. The wooden material in which the long-haired stranger was knocking on suddenly protruded long wooden thorns, threatening to painfully poke at the boy’s hand if he hadn’t stopped soon enough. [break][break]
Following that, Kyoko decided her introduction was long overdue. The tanuki-girl reached into the pockets of her shorts and placed a few plant seeds of hers into her palms. She bent her knees and jumped from her hiding spot, throwing the seeds. [break][break]
”Germinate.” [break][break]
She mumbled her command and the seeds obliged. They morphed into chlorophyll-shurikens that had the texture and durability of any expertly crafted ninjutsu weapon. Rocketing forward at significantly high speeds, they’d fly quite close to her target -- perhaps happening to capture a bit of hair on their way to the forest ground -- but ultimately fail to injure. Kyoko was not aiming to harm but to simply frighten. [break][break]
She landed onto the ground behind the intruder. In her hand was a leaf-kunai which she pointed threateningly at this stranger. [break][break]
”I’d excuse you for not seeing the ginormous “no-trespassing” sign because of blindness,” The girl began with a hiss, her accent clearly Japanese, “but something tells me you’re not, with how easily you navigated your way here. Perhaps your blindness only applies to your sensibility. This place is off-limits; What the hell do you want?” [break][break]
Kyoko was a new hero and wasn’t quite familiar with all the faces of the Aegis agents within Wayport City. But she also didn’t care all too much about their identities either. She hadn’t much interest in the lives of her other super powered counterparts; Kyoko only wished to be able to use her powers legally and in peace. [break][break]
This man was disrupting that peace. [break][break]
”I’m not interested in moving anywhere else for some silly park expansion, either. This place is my place.”
↯”Nearby Aegis agents, please report to Uptown! There have been reports of open fire on Fifth Street! Three men dressed in black are armed and threatening citizens. Please be advised that the arms they are carrying are enhanced plasma machine guns. Avoid collateral damage, and prioritize citizen life!”↯
[break][break]
Came over the intercoms of any nearby Heroes within a 20-mile radius of Uptown. The responder’s voice seemed much more urgent than usual and for good reason; The Blue Tigers, a malicious gang group seeded deep within the roots of Wayport City had found a way to get their hands on very dangerous firearms. [break][break]
“Bahaha! Lets see these bitches run like mice! Pew, pew!” [break][break]
One of the men in black pulled down on the trigger of his weapon, haphazardly firing rays of cyan plasma in all directions. The beams hit the walls of corner stores and nearby street signs, disintegrating its material within a blink of an eye. Screaming onlookers began to sprawl across the streets and sidewalks, doing their best to frantically free from the incoming danger… [break][break]
[break][break]
Not far away, a girl in a red hoodie had been casually walking down the street a few blocks away from the scene. Underneath the hood of the red fabric of her top did her tanuki ears twitch. [break][break]
”Do my ears deceive me?” Kyoko Hamasaki whispered to herself, cocking her head to the side with confusion. She could have sworn she heard faint screams nearby. [break][break]
Well, any doubts of hers were promptly confirmed. Up ahead, a stampede of citizens were running in her direction. The girl clenched her teeth and quickly stepped aside into an alley, letting the spooked humans run past. Their screams were followed by the sound of property destruction. After a loud explosion, Kyoko witnessed a large tree that had once been adorning a nearby coffee shop burst into fragments of wood and burnt leaves. A shudder ran down her spine and Kyoko winced. [break][break]
She felt that one. [break][break]
Now, it was personal.
[break][break]
Quickly, Kyoko threw off her hoodie which revealed her Hero costume. The girl was decked in obsidian and was adorned like a noble ninja. She was still getting used to this new suit given to her by her senior overseer back at Aegis Headquarters. A little tight, but it had very useful utilities. It was much more durable than her Older outfit... [break][break]
Suited up now, Kyoko -- Now Kunoichi-Chan -- quickly ran out onto the scene. She slipped a few seeds out of a compartment hidden within her sleeve, and threw out a selection of large, plant-based shurikens. Her target was able to dodge the first two, but the third impaled his gun, and the fourth caught onto the fabric of his pant leg, pinning him down into a kneel. [break][break]
”Stop this chaos at once!” Kunoichi declared aloud, pointing an accusatory finger at the man. ”I, Kunoichi-Chan, will make sure you spend a long time in prison!” [break][break]
The restrained man kissed his teeth with annoyance. Of course a damn super would get in his way! [break][break]
Luckily, his other two acquaintances had his back. Running forward, they began to open fire on anyone who opposed them!

[attr="class","yuki-text"] ”A-Ah!” [break][break]
As her palms moved closer to the mangled body in an attempt to possibly reform the woman she’d killed, Kyoko would let out a yelp when suddenly, as if briefly brought back to life, the mutilated corpse grabbed a hold of one of her arm’s wrists. The glowing stopped and Kyoko froze dead in place, the color immediately draining from her fluffy face. Her body told her to run but fear had already well overtaken her body. [break][break]
”I-I didn’t mean to kill anyone!” Kyoko shrieked. [break][break]
But the other woman screamed louder. The girl hugged her knees and cowered, covering her tanuki ears and attempted to block out the terrifying sight before her. Kyoko was not used to dealing with such otherworldly matters. [break][break]
Thankfully, however, the terror was only momentarily. Suddenly, the wailing sound before her ceased and was instead replaced by a fit of giggles. Kyoko glanced up. This mysterious apparition mocked her. [break][break]
Had she not died moments before? [break][break]
Good as new, after a bit of rolling the apparition got up onto her feet. Kyoko did so too, but much more gradually. She narrowed her emerald eyes with serious discontent. Kyoko understood now. She shouldn’t have been so easily fooled; this Yokai must have used a sort of illusion to pull off that gruesome scene. But, it was unusual for one to pull it off so well in such little time. [break][break]
”Already dead?” Kyoko inquired, raising an eyebrow. [break][break]
She was a ghost? [break][break]
Well, it would explain some of the other incapabilities of a Yokai. But... that wasn’t right, was it? Mortal souls weren’t supposed to be able to stay on a mortal plane for this exact reason! How was this woman able to do so? [break][break]
Kyoko’s face flushed. She wasn’t scared anymore. Just irritated. Her fur bristled at its end. [break][break]
”What do you want?!” Kyoko snarled, baring her fangs at the ghost. ”Are you happy now that you’ve endangered the lives of tons of people? [break][break]
If you’re so desperately after fun, I can give you some-- just you and me! But leave these innocent people out of this!” She exclaimed. Clearly, Kyoko had seen just about enough for today. Her fur on her short body was all puffed up. She was irritated. [break][break]
Kyoko knew that, on her own, she did not have the tools to scare off a ghost. But if she could get away from this environment, maybe she could get some other supernatural assistance… [break][break]
”Just you and me!” Kyoko declared, pointing an accusatory index claw at the strange ghost’s body. She needed to get this ghost to buy into her agreement. ”Or are you too much of a scaredy cat to agree? I wouldn't blame you; ghosts only seem to like to take the cowardly way out, anyway.”

[attr="class","yuki-text"] Unbeknownst to the pinkette beckoning out to the woodland critter below, piercing emerald eyes gaze below within a canopy of darkness. Kyoko’s superheroine name wasn’t not made up out of jest; she truly was an expert in the way of stealth as a true kunoichi would. Squatting on a thicker tree branch, the Tanuki girl observed the tender manner in which this woman reassured the fox. [break][break]
”At least she seems to be gentle with animals. That’s commendable.” Kyoko whispered to herself. [break][break]
But, that didn’t change the fact that this girl was on Aegis’ watchlist. Strangely enough, from what Kyoko was told, she was actually a hero as well. Supposedly, she had a bit of a rebellious streak and did not fit quite into the usual expectation of a registered Hero. This woman, Khae, was troublesome, meddlesome, and sometimes broke protocol. How odd. [break][break]
”Of course they task me with something as menial as this, and of course I so happen to find them across here…” [break][break]
‘Here’, referring to this nature-encompassed outskirt, of course. These places were supposed to be Kyoko’s safe haven, not one of a pink-haired pseudo-heroine. She could only assume that it was normal for newbies such as herself to be given the technical work no one wanted to deal with. Kyoko was just unlucky, she supposed. [break][break]
Kyoko gave a great sigh, ears flattening against her head. [break][break]
When was she not unlucky?
[break][break]
But anyway, back to the task at hand. Kyoko cleared her throat and let out a series of animalistic barks, those of a fox’s call. She beckoned out to the fox below, asking it to move back and make some space. It obliged, and Khae would find that it suddenly ambled backward. [break][break]
Afterward, Kyo closed her eyes. Her body gave off a magenta-colored hue for a moment before-- [break][break]
”Disperse.” [break][break]
She was gone from her place on the branch, seemingly in a flash. [break][break]
But Kyoko had not just departed from this mortal plane. No, that would have been silly. She simply deconstructed her body into a flurry of leaves. Said leaves collected into a small twister before the woman of her interest. Kyoko reemerged, her body revealed. [break][break]
The tanuki girl was short, though. She stared up at her target and pointed forward. [break][break]

[attr="class","yuki-text"] Having landed onto the ground now, Rock-Kunoichi took a moment to reform her body back to its usual fleshy state. She shook her body like a freshly washed dog would, ridding herself of the stony confinement of her previous form and puffing out of fur. She slowly and carefully looked over the boy she’d just saved from toe to head. No obvious wounds or blemishes. Kyoko let out a sigh of relief. Thank goodness. [break][break]
Finally her bright emerald eyes locked with the boy’s and her tanuki ears flattened against her head timidly. The once stern and heroic demeanor she exudes moments before evaporated away. Kyoko was not good with compliments, especially not ones of this flirtatious nature! He was no eloquent Romeo but the way he looked into her eyes was surely telling. Kyoko blushed and gently set him down before attempting to slink away like an embarrassed school girl. Her left arm held her right abashedly. ”M-My name’s Kunoichi-Chan. U-Um, I’m glad I could help.” She stuttered, her voice growing more faint with every sentence. ”B-B-But I wouldn’t want you to get hurt, so please get to safety away from here!” [break][break]
Her red hot blush well burnt its way into her cheeks; Kyoko needed relief. She gave a quick wave and scampered away. So caught up in her mushy heroics, she’d failed to realize the forming crowd just a few meters away from where all the action had happened. Kyoko knew she’d attempted to pin her Yokai-enemy down with a boulder. With this large gathering, Kyoko assumed it must have worked and her enemy was subdued. With a grin of triumph, she weaved through the crowd to approach closer. [break][break]
But Kyoko noticed that the faces of the onlookers were not relieved, but instead terrified. The air lacked the usual cheers and hoots celebrating a valiant heroine. Finally, when Kyoko made her way to the front, she saw what had sucked the life out of the crowd. [break][break]
”Oh shit… [break][break]
[break][break]
I-I killed her?!”
[break][break]
No way. Frightened at the gnarly scene before her, the girl’s fur bristled at its end. Gagging, the girl stumbled backward, eventually falling onto her hind just a few inches away from the mangled body. She clenched her teeth and fought the urge to vomit. Kyoko might have been a Superhero but she was still a child at heart. There was no amount of Aegis training that could prepare one for the irony smell of blood and sight of torn muscles in this horrific manner. It wasn’t a thing anyone would want to experience. [break][break]
”I-I…!” [break][break]
She didn’t mean to. [break][break]
Most Yokai were relatively sturdy. It was so strange for a simple attack to leave one in such terrible shape. Kyoko frantically gazed around the crowd. No medical unit in sight, but bounds upon bounds of unnerved faces. [break][break]
Anxious tears welled up into her eyes. She was truly alone on this one. [break][break]
Kyoko needed to do something. She didn’t wish for death upon anyone or anything, even if this spirit had done wrong. The girl got up to her feet and slowly walked towards the woman. She motioned her arms forward and pushed the boulder away from her body. [break][break]
Next, Kyoko got onto her knees. The only way she knew she could remotely fix this was by using her Animancy magic. She brought her hands together and they began to glow a bright green. She closed her eyes and gave a prayer: [break][break]
”Mother Nature, please help me restore the life-energy of this rogue Yokai. In… Exchange for some of my own.” [break][break]
Exposed now, the girl’s glowing hands slowly approached what was left of this spirit’s body...

Almost as soon as the strange apparition appeared, it had begun to flee. This was no good. Bystanders were still filtering around, leaving room for potential collateral damage if Kunoichi didn’t do something soon. She needed to be hot on this spirit’s trail before more damage was done to the theme park! [break][break]
Kyoko stowed her sword away onto her belt and soon her wings reemerged once more. She moved away from the booth and ran forward, promptly taking off into the skies. [break][break]
”Please, you all need to evacuate! There’s a threat around, but it can’t be seen by usual human eyes! I know things don’t look terrible right now, but you have to leave!” Shouted Kyoko again, dark blue brows furrowing with frustration. Why didn’t citizens like to listen? [break][break]
Soaring after the enemy, Kyoko would land close to a nearby bumper car rink. She clenched her teeth with concern when she saw the operator fall, but she needed to prioritize the most vulnerable life at the moment; the folks within the cars. [break][break]
Before leaping over the railing and into the rink, the ninja-Tanuki placed her palms to the surrounding concrete ground. Her hand gave off a faint glow for a moment before her body began to completely morph. Her body took on the concrete material below her, replicating it so that her skin was as hard, sturdy, and heavy as stone. [break][break]
Now in the rink, Kunoichi-Chan caught sight of the apparition that was now manning the vehicle. It was zooming straight forward, and in her direction! [break][break]
Kyoko took a stance and extended her arms. She ran forward, and splayed her palms forth, attempting to grasp onto the hood of the car. Kyoko planted her feet down and attempted to stop the vehicle from moving further, her feet skidding backward as the opposing force was pushing against her. [break][break]
”Grah, this is enough! You don’t need to go about all this chaos!” [break][break]
Kyoko motioned a swiping hand upward, summoning a pillar of stone underneath the car to pierce its middle so that it was suspended above ground -- all while avoiding injuring the passenger inside. If the rouge vehicle couldn’t move, there’d be at least a smidgen time for the other riders to escape. [break][break]
If her efforts had done anything to stop the movement of the car, Kyoko would attempt to leap up onto the skewered car’s hood and rescue the boy into one of her rocky arms, carrying bridal-style. ”Are you alright?” [break][break]
Her other arm, however, was used to emerge a boulder from the ground beneath her and then cast the rock towards this malicious spirit with the intent of crushing her in place. But of course, Kyoko was not completely aware of the tangibility of her foe.[break][break]

[attr="class","yuki-text"]It was just another solitary night. Kyoko liked cool and quiet ones like these. The silence gave way for her own innermost noises to gather in her subconscious rather than the assaulting sounds from the outside world. With cars and trucks and people sprawling about the metropolitan on a daily basis, Wayport City was just so loud. Too loud. Kyoko never really felt at home here nor could she seem to find a way to make her place here, so she decided to fall back on the sort of area that always gave her comfort; the woodlands. [break][break]
There was an unmistakable serenity about natural surroundings. Kyoko for one could appreciate such more than any average human. Not only did she care for nature, but she could also resonate with it, literally. She could feel what it felt. Every aspiration of a plant. Every subtle vibration from a passing raven’s flapping wings. Kyoko was just so intertwined and engrossed in it all. It was as if she and the forest shared the same beating heart. [break][break]
Simply put, she just felt like she belonged there. [break][break]
But Kyoko could not count on her little hideaway forever. She knew well that it was important that she venture out -- whether that meant simply strolling around to understand the layout of the city, or mingling with other people of her age to make friends. She could know everything about nature, but she needed to resonate with the city too were she to become a useful hero. [break][break]
But it was something that was so much easier said than done for the Tanuki girl. With a masked face and fur all over, Kyo looked so different from other kids. She was forced to hide her appearance with magic whenever she did wish to interact with others which was a strenuous task in itself. [break][break]
”Nothing ever comes easy, I suppose…” The girl sighed to herself as she swiftly hopped from rooftop to rooftop within the cover of the night. [break][break]
The bottom line: Kyoko was shy and awkward. Friends didn’t come easy. She was going to need more help in that department. [break][break]
So, for now, she rode the night alone. [break][break]
Of course, that was until she carefully shimmied down a neighborhood wall and spotted something within the distance. Something unlike she’d ever seen before. Kyoko squinted her eyes. What in the hell? [break][break]
It looked like a deer. But not like any normal one. It was blue with glowing antlers. [break][break]
She furrowed her brow. With such size a mystical appearance, it had to be a Yokai, right? [break][break]
There was only one way to find out. [break][break]
Kyoko, with caution, ambled out into view. Wordlessly the Tanuki girl approached closer until she was only a few meters away. [break][break]
”C-Could you be a Kirin?” Kyoko muttered, mostly to herself. A benevolent deer Yokai. It was uncommon to find such in the middle of Uptown -- or any city -- like this! Kyoko’s tail wrapped around her left leg anxiously. [break][break]
