Anti-Heroes and Vigilantes are our most desired member groups at the moment! Do consider making one!
Sun-hi Lee is the youngest of the Lee family of super heroes. Crimson Cardinal had a bad habit of taking young super kids ostracized for their abilities under his wing while at the same time neglecting his only flesh and blood daughter, Sun-hi, thanks to his devotion to the hero job. Her siblings have had varying levels of closeness with their kid sister but in general she resents most of them for being absent to play hero while she struggled by on her own. I'd love to see some of them pop up on the board! I don't really have any face ideas for any of these so if you want one hit me up and go nuts! They're all heroes to some degree, but not all of them have to work for Aegis, there's a lot of flexibility to work with here! Even though Crimson Cardinal is based in South Korea his work with Aegis has taken him all over the world and he could have scooped these kids up anywhere really.[break][break]
Crimson Cardinal: One of Asia's most powerful--and popular-- super heroes, Crimson Cardinal is a Batman type figure. He appears whenever he is needed, but is mostly a recluse. The senior Lee lost his wife to a supervillain attack and hasn't been the same since, feverishly attempting to curb super crime wherever he can find it. Because of this he's never been around much for his unpowered daughter and whether this neglect is intentional or an unfortunate side effect I leave to you! He has overwhelmingly powerful fire abilities and is a very skilled fighter. He's also very highly respected among his peers, so the fact that one of his kids can't stand him catches people off guard.[break][break]
Leaper: An acrobatic young man with undefined powers, Leaper is Sun-hi's oldest adopted brother and he's a show off. His powers and face are open to whatever, as is his super name! He's in his mid twenties and successfully broke out from his father's shadow.[break][break]
Sister: Sun-hi's oldest sister, name face and powers open to interpretation but I think water powers would be cool!
[break][break]
Brother 2: Another brother for added fun! Closer to Sun-hi in age than the other two, and I don't have any thoughts about his powers or personality. But hit me up! The more the merrier![break][break]

Nothing but dead ends in her personal villain hunt. Cool. So that meant Sunny actually had to commit to the super hero thing. That meant working with her new team of similar up and coming heroes. A local museum had just opened up a perfect target for someone looking to line their pockets; a collection of the world's rarest gemstones. And naturally word got around that some criminal or another was planning a hit.
Sunny didn't really care all that much, but she volunteered to go along. She had some calibrations to run on Nexus Buster and standing around in a museum for a few hours to scare off whoever had sticky fingers suited her fine. She was a little surprised Kaiden, the friendly one, wanted to go too though. They'd already been waiting in the dark museum for what felt like forever as she put the machine through it's paces. Mostly targeting system stuff, making sure the depth on the viewfinder measured up with the other settings she'd been tweaking.
The vaulted ceilings of the museum offered plenty of space for display, the walls were covered in ornate woodworking and large glass skylights let some of the golden glow from the chandelier lights escape in to the night sky. In the center of the room was a large case of glass in which beautifully wrought gemstones lay, some natural formations of amethyst and emerald while others were worked in to gorgeous rings once worn by history's elite. Sticking out like a sore thumb was the seven foot battle mech in it's blue and hot rod flames and the other young super kid pacing around while the robot twitched and pivoted on occasion. She wished it had been closer to the space exhibits but noooo, of course those were on the other side of the museum.
"I'm starting to think this museum just wanted to show off its connections, this is boring," Sun-Hi complained, Nexus Buster's speaker transmitting her voice from inside to her super partner. The clacking of the fold-out keyboard had gone from a constant stream of inputs to idle social media scrolling and really she'd have much rather been back at their home base blueprinting. "Sending both of us is probably overkill anyways. How far do they think they'll get in a city full of super heroes?"

Processing. Yeah, cause that was definitely what Sun-hi had wanted to do when she signed on to Aegis with her very urgent need to find out where AHI had sold her designs. Her dad was a famous super hero, she had an important job to do, and they just put her in a room to wait on a super hero to show her around the home base. And that was after they dragged their feet on her application for a week. She must have read through everything in this crappy automotive magazine six times. She'd been here in this waiting room before plenty of times, with its cool blue wallpaper and screens of ads informing the prospective super person of all the benefits provided by signing with Aegis and its rotating slideshow of global top heroes. She glared up at Crimson Cardinal as he flashed on screen for the nineteenth time (she'd counted) since she started waiting. Helmet off and smiling courageously in front of a podium.
She remembered the day that had happened and as if she wasn't stressed enough over Nexus Buster that didn't help. Even with all the locks she hated having to leave her life's work sitting in somebody else's loading bay. Sun-hi checked her watch again, a little holographic display flashing up. 18:47 they'd really made her waste two hours of her time sitting in this damn lobby. She blew a bubble with her gum and popped it to express her displeasure to the empty room. She wished she'd grabbed her jacket cause the grey plugsuit and her baseball cap really didn't do much for how cold they had the AC.
But finally the door opened and she got a good look at who her chaperone was. That green carapace, those bug antennae...
"누가 그를 여기에 들여 보냈습니까?" Sun-hi said to herself, looking the mutant bug man up and down. The Creature had caused problems in Korea not too long ago and gotten in a scrap with her old man. And here he was just... inducting people to the organization? Were they just desperate for people or something? She stood up and put the magazine back on the rack before facing the big... thing. She had to crane her neck back to see his weird bug face and her grimace was plain as day. "Ugh. Let's just get this over with. I'm Sun-hi Lee. I guess you're showing me the place or... whatever."

[attr="class","monbody2"] After years of work Sun-Hi was finally putting the finishing touches on her mech. Years of experience had been poured in to every aspect of the dull grey ball of metal flying over Tokyo right now, and looking down on the sight of a city glittering in the night it felt almost like it finally paid off. Today was the first proper field test of the mark one prototype; everything had worked well in the lab but field work would be his true test. The enclosed cockpit hid her from view, not that anyone could reach the flying machine, while she monitored it's numbers.[break][break]
Little green bars and numbers flashed across her monitors, flickering in and out as the machine levelled itself. She'd travelled to Japan on the power of her mech's own thrusters and been moving about the city for a while now. Walking tests, running tests, jumping between buildings, checking everything she could. But she needed one last thing before she could call her first field trip a success. She needed some super baddie to pop up. It was kinda scary to be actively looking to get in to a fight, but she had to have some faith. The titanium plating of her prototype would protect her as long as she didn't tackle anything too big.[break][break]
A ping on her phone told her that the waiting had paid off! An emergency alert for the area. Danger at the power substation. Something about robots, which sounded like the perfect chance to run a combat test. Time to put her skills and her work to the test! With a quick adjustment of her seating and a twist of the controls the prototype roared in to action. The power substation wasn't far and she made her grand entrance with style! A multitude of spindly human shaped robots with laser arms were trying to get in to the substation with some big piece of machinery. Whatever it was they must have needed a lot of juice for it![break][break]
Like a silver bolt of lightning the prototype dropped from the sky, thrusters propelling it in to a dropping smash and crushing one of the robots beneath it's powerful feet! The shock from the impact vibrated through the cockpit, some adjustments to make there but it hadn't turned her to mush so that was good. A few flipped switches powered up the deflector as the robots turned to attack her. It looked like it was just dinky robots too, this should be easy! Time to prove her worth![break][break]
Power Summary: A super genius with a nack for robotics, Sun-hi developed a revolutionary combat mecha to fight for her. Equipped with powerful laser cannons, a deflector and heavy armor plating the Nexus Buster is ready to deal with anything in its way! And Sun-hi is always working on the next batch of upgrades to make it even more powerful. Her expertise in the field of robotics makes her a go-to when you need a machine built or analyzed and she can build gadgets to help out other supers if the mood strikes her. Oh, and she's got money, that's important too.
History: Born in to the legacy of the Crimson Cardinal, a highly respected hero in Aegis, Sun-hi was born with no powers and was widely neglected by her large family of adopted siblings with powers. Bitter, she turned her great mind towards creating a machine that could outdo his legacy, the Nexus Buster! When the plans for her magnum opus were sold off to a paramilitary organization she stole her prototype and wiped Ashita Heavy Industry's servers of all the data with her name on it. Seeing the urgent need to find who bought her plans and stop them from reaching full production she reluctantly signed with Aegis. Unfriendly, stubbornly independent and very critical of superhumans as a whole she's a bit of a hard pill to swallow but there's no denying her skills with machinery make her an asset.
As a free agent Sun-hi as Nexus Buster goes where her expertise is best utilized and her powerful mech can be put to good use. At her father's recommendation-- and against her protests- she was added to the team in the misguided hope that making friends with other up and coming super people will change her harsh opinions of superhumans and mold her in to the same sort of figure her dad is.
She's putting up with it, for now, but she's very vocal about how much she prefers to work alone.
Though ostensibly a hero, Sun-hi is very dismissive of superhumans. Having grown up in a family of them who mostly saw fit to ignore her, for one reason or another, caused her to develop a strong resentment towards them. That's not to say she can't or won't get over it, but her bitterness with her life so far has manifested in a mean streak. If Sun-hi is displeased about something she's not afraid to voice her displeasure and she has a lot of contempt for the systems that she feels robbed her of a family life. Mostly she's just lonely and taking it out on everyone around who'll listen. Her heart is in the right place and she does want to help people though.[break][break]
Sun-hi's neglect mostly manifests itself in a massive stubborn streak. If she doesn't absolutely need someone's help she's loathe to go and actually do it. She doesn't even really make friends all that well, preferring the company of her machines to actual people despite how lonely and isolated she feels. Machines don't talk back after all... She's not totally a jerk though. Underneath her social awkwardness and her walls she has a capacity for a lot of kindness and wants to do great things in the world. Anybody who makes it through to her heart can even get her to swallow her pride and apologize for being a butt. The easiest way to get in? Talk about cars or machines, she loves that shit.
Imagine this; your father is one of South Korea's premier super heroes. With his fire powers and his devotion to justice at all cost he becomes a rising star, famous and powerful. He even joins the global effort to begin fighting super crime alongside the world's greatest champions. Along the way in his quest to vengeance he takes half a dozen young developing superhumans under his wing and even finds love and has a daughter of his own. Imagine you're this daughter, youngest of his children and lacking in any powers. Your family always sprints away to save the day at the first sign of danger, and you? You get to watch everyone else do it.[break][break]
This is the life of Sun-Hi Lee. Born to the Crimson Cardinal nineteen years ago he was disappointed to learn that his youngest child, the only one who was his by blood, lacked the fantastic super powers his surrogate did. Some say he did his best given the circumstances and the untimely death of his wife and her mother at the hands of a villain, but Sun-Hi says after her mother died she was virtually abandoned. Imagine living in a big house all by yourself because your super hero family has to go stop Doctor Bizarro for the third time this week, you don't get to go to the robotics tournament you'd been planning all year because of a crisis off Earth Aegis called your dad for, you don't even get to enjoy a birthday party without them all rushing off to play hero. Sun-hi didn't take it well; she grew up neglected and bitter, turning her mind inwards and focusing on her education. Because she did have a power, just not one that was apparent.[break][break]
A brilliant roboticist, in her early teens she began putting all of her efforts in to her education. By fifteen she blazed past her fellow students and propelled herself through Seoul's most advanced robotics courses with ease, transforming her room in to a workshop and beginning planning on the most ambitious project of her life. Sun-hi, bitterly jealous of the adventurous nature of her family, saw a way to help the world out in a way even they couldn't. She envisioned a line of high power compact mecha capable of dealing with superhuman crimes and world events without involving Aegis and its people. Ashita Heavy Industries was very interested in her early prototype designs and her impressive educational record and hired her on, giving her command of a team to develop the Enforcer project. Of course creating a combat mecha even in a world of super heroes required a lot of work; Sun-hi managed to develop a number of key robotics breakthroughs in motor systems and portable fusion power cores that could maintain the full suite of systems such a machine would require. It was years of work and her patents made her wealthy quite quickly.[break][break]
It wasn't to last however. After putting on a demonstration with the first functioning prototype, a machine small enough to fit inside buildings but robust enough to take a beating from super humans and enough firepower to tackle people who just laugh when you shoot them. The demonstration impressed everyone at the annual Seoul tech expo but her father was nowhere to be found. Imagine her shock when, on returning to her corporate workshop, she was informed that her design had already been snapped up by an interested party without her knowledge. Seemingly a paramilitary group operating from a sea base, Sun-hi flew in to a rage and wiped the corporate server of her data before fleeing with her prototype. Left with little choice she registered her new role as a super hero with Aegis in order to take advantage of their greater resources and gave her prototype machine a new name; Nexus Buster! Now it's up to her to track down the paramilitary organization with her designs before inferior versions of her creation are turned on to the world stage to tarnish her legacy...
CHARACTER POWERS
✰ Enhanced Intelligence [break] Superpower Wiki [break][break]
Sun-Hi wasn't born with any superhuman abilities on the outside but she WAS blessed with one of the brightest minds of a generation. She's incredibly gifted when it comes to practical sciences and had a particular nack for advanced robotic engineering. She's developed a revolutionary personal combat machine called the Nexus Buster sporting a whole host of revolutionary technologies, from small-scale fusion power cores to auto-correcting motor systems as fluid as a living thing's legs to small-scale direct energy weapons. Her insatiable appetite for knowledge drives her to always be learning and applying her newfound knowledge to her machinery, meaning Nexus Buster rarely leaves the workshop with the exact same loadout on each deployment. [break][break]
X - For all her knowledge, Sun-Hi has nothing to fall back on but her short frail body without her technology at hand. As a five foot tall, not particularly athletic Korean woman she's hardly intimidating on her own, making her an easy target if you can crack the Nexus Buster's reinforced shell. [break][break]
↣ NEXUS BUSTER MK. I [break] Power Suit [break][break]
The Nexus Buster MK. I is Sun-Hi's pride and joy; a prototype mini mecha meant to aid police in dealing with superpowered threats without the need to involve other supers. Sun-hi is always researching and experimenting with new systems and upgrades. Its armaments and abilities include: [break][break]
X- Despite its impressive armaments, the Nexus Buster's micro fusion core still suffers from a number of design flaws and inefficiencies keeping it from operating at full capacity for longer than half an hour. Its hull plates have a number of weak points where the joints come together and individual parts can be removed by focused attacks and it remains susceptible to electrical overload.[break][break]
Fitted with a variable intensity regulator, the Nexus Buster MK-1's beam cannons can be fired in a number of power settings. At its lowest the kinetic, electrical force is akin to being punched in the face if the fist was also a taser. At its highest power output the beam cannons are capable of punching through reinforced steel and titanium bulkheads, though the cannons can't sustain this power output for long periods.[break][break]
A miniaturized deflector shield capable of resisting a wide variety of energy based attacks. When properly fueled it can deflect most weapons for approximately five minutes, though it struggles to fully deflect ballistic weapons. Naturally the shield doesn't hold up under sustained bombardment from things like death rays, and power for the shield systems are often shared with the walker's other systems keeping it from operating at maximum for long. The shield is designed to redirect electrical attacks without causing damage to the walker, but lightning and directed lightning weapons drain it extremely quickly.[break][break]
The durable hull plates of the Nexus Buster create an enclosed space with its own limited atmosphere within its sturdy metal hull. Thick metal-ceramic composite plates make it resistant to heats up to 1540 C before the alloys begin to melt down though naturally the joints and moving parts are easier impacted by heat based attacks. The enclosed internal environment can keep the pilot alive for two days maximum, the pilot has to pack their own snacks however. The hull plates are capable of taking quite a bit of punishment, standing firm against most single blows from super strength individuals. The joints and corners are natural weaker points despite their reinforcements and the energy shield does a poor job of keeping physical projectiles (and super fists) off the hull.[break][break]
A set of powerful thrusters mounted on the Nexus Buster enable it to leap and fly with ease! With a max speed of 193 KPH they can be keyed to allow the mech to hover indefinitely so long as the reactor is powering it, though she prefers to use it in short bursts and to reach high places to ensure an abundance of power for its other systems. Naturally the removal of any of these thrusters hampers the mech's ability to fly. [break][break]
In addition to the Nexus Buster MK. I prototype Sun-Hi keeps a pulse blaster pistol of her own design on her person for emergency self defense. A simple looking pistol, it fits a modified power cell that enables it to shoot energy beams of concussive force. Because of the power cell it has theoretically infinite ammunition, but only holds enough charge at one time for ten shots at normal power or a single high-powered blast before requiring a charging period.[break][break]
X - Non-lethal blast pistol, limited shots, long recharge period between uses. [break][break]
A souped up cellular phone Sun-hi doesn't go without, she's modified this device to be a portable hub with which she can access a wide variety of machinery. With an adaptive plug and a variety of connectors she can splice in to various computer systems to perform hacks, upgrade the programming on her mech, or any number of things you could do with a portable computer in your pocket and a genius brain in your head. It's encrypted and password locked and no, you can't see it.[break][break]
X - Poor battery life, requires physical connection for closed system hacking, fragile, not the best tool but it does the job.[break][break]

⍟ QUOTE/CATCHPHRASE:[break][break]
"That gives me an idea for another upgrade. Thanks, I guess." [break][break]
✽ VEHICLE MAINTENANCE [break][break]
Sun-hi has a passion for motor vehicles of all kind and has a pet project of restoring old cars when she isn't working on the latest tech for Nexus Buster. She's so much of a gear head that Nexus Buster has lots of chrome and a loud engine like that of a classic sports car! She's also a great driver. [break][break]
✽ PATENTED! [break][break]
Sun-hi's technological breakthroughs have resulted in a few highly lucrative patents in her home country. Her fission-filled batteries are very popular and a few updates to the machining process at Ashita Heavy Industries that she was smart enough to claim has put a lot of money in her pockets, though she doesn't flaunt it.[break][break]
✽ COOKIN' [break][break]
There's nothing more scientific than a well maintained chemical reaction and cooking is nothing but a string of those! Sun-hi is a surprisingly good chef and while she doesn't do it often she does enjoy it![break][break]
